Adding tickers to your portfolio in FAST Graphs is straightforward and can be done in several ways.
Using the Actions Tab
To add tickers via the Actions tab, start by navigating to your portfolio and clicking on the "Actions" tab. From the dropdown menu, select "Add Tickers."
This action will bring up a modal window where you can search for ticker symbols. Enter the ticker symbol you want to add.
Note: If you're unsure of the ticker symbol, begin typing the company's name, and the system will perform a search for you.
If you need to add multiple tickers, you can enter them one by one or paste a list of tickers (Ctrl V) separated by spaces or commas. For example, you could enter:
jnj, pg,
metajnj pg meta
Both formats will add all three tickers to your portfolio.
As you add tickers, they will appear in a list within the modal. Review the list and remove any unwanted tickers before finalizing your additions. Be mindful of region selections; if the region is not specified, the system will default to the more popular item.
Ex. If you wanted to add the German version of JNJ, you would need to type JNJ:DE
into the ticker box or select it from the list after typing in JNJ
Adding Tickers from the Summary and Holdings Tables
You can also add tickers from the summary and holdings tables within your portfolio. Look for the "Add Tickers" button at the top of these tables. Clicking this button will bring up the same modal window as in the Actions tab, where you can search for and add tickers following the same steps.
Adding Tickers Through Transactions
Another way to add tickers is by adding a transaction for a ticker not already in your portfolio. When you add such a transaction, the ticker will automatically be added to your portfolio. This method is useful if you want to simultaneously add a ticker and record a transaction.
Adding Tickers When Graphing in the Company App
Alternatively, you can add tickers to multiple portfolios when graphing in the company app. Simply click the "Add to Portfolio" button, and a modal will pop up showing two lists of portfolios. The left side displays the portfolios that the ticker is not yet in, while the right side shows the portfolios that already include the ticker. From here, you can easily add or remove the ticker from multiple portfolios.
